Missing EDB files

Hi,

We've just taken over a new company and there exhchange server has NO backup.

Plumbed it in, started it up and it failed to load the exchange directory.

Further investigation has shown that the priv.edb, pub.edb and dir.edb are missing!!!

What could cause this and is there a way back?

Call me a pesimist, but that sounds malicious to me. You take over a company and all the edb's just happen to be missing, and no back up?

I would say you are stuffed, unless you can get hold of some file recovery software. The chance of getting the files back in tact is slim though...
