Can anyone explain to me how to re-instate my url address bar in IE 6. When I installed XP, I had an address bar. Today I don't and I can't say why. but I can't find any controls that will change it back. how do I doit?

Have you tried the most obvious fixes yet?

For example, on the menu bar click on "View | Toolbars" and make sure "Address Bar" has a checkmark beside it.

Also if you hold your mouse pointer over the thin bar that separates the toolbars from the web page you'll notice the cursor changes from a pointer to a vertical line with arrows on each end, if you hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse down/up you can reveal/hide the various bars, i.e. toolbar, address bar etc.

Hope that helps

TweakUI.....?

try unchecking "Lock the Toolbars"

Registry.....?
For all users on a particular workstation, the registry location is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
For specific users on a particular workstation, the registry location is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Give the NoAddressBar value the data of 0x0 to enable the Address bar. smitee
