A friend just got caught in the hoax email going around saying to delete the teddy bear file. Well he did and then cleaned out his recycle bin. He has win 98, not win98SE.
Where can I find the "jdbgmgr.exe" for win98?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try Scanreg /restore in DOS mode. You should be able to retrieve the registry from the day before the file was erased.

Maybe I am missing something here, but retrieving the registry will not retrieve a deleted 'file'?

Unless there is something to this hoax that I am not privvy to...

Cheers!

This was something for java developers. If your friend is a java developer he should know how to get it back. If he is not a java developer he has no need of it.

He isn't a java builder, so he should be good to go. Thanks.

I'm curious, since it's java and java has to do with the internet, could he reload his Internet Explorer to get the file back?
