Hello,
Does anyone know the whereabouts of a white paper or good set of instructions for mirroring drives on Netware 6?

I understand the only way it can be done is through the Console 1 GUI. From console 1, I find my server object, properties, media, then see both of my hard drives. I select the one I want to mirror to, select NSS partition, make the size greater than the drive I want to mirror from, enter an appropriate HotFix size, create a new mirror and click OK. This creates a new partition on the desired hard drive, but this is as far as I can get. I cant figure out how to mirror the partitons on the first & second hard drives & cant find much documentation beyond what I have out lined above. I get the feeling I am missing something simple, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Craig Barroll

Craig, if your server is patched, you can use NSSMU.NLM, a console based utility.

From the main menu, go into 'partitions', and along the bottom you'll see various commands. One of them is "F3=MIRROR".

nssmu is a lot easier to use
console1 gets a bit confusing

personally i hate software mirror though - i would spend the extra cash an get an array controller to go with hardware raid

Yes, hardware RAIDS are safer and more reliable. Spend the money.
