Hey!

There is something really mysterious happening to a laptop one of my customers have. It got Windows 2000 Professional installed. It was fully functioning and the miniatures view was working. Then. I installed Adobe Photoshop 4, upgraded to 5.0 and then to 5.5. Rebooted after every new installation. The miniatures stopped working, and are now just showing a the icon registered to the assosiated program instead of a small picture. Double clicking the file will open Adobe Photoshop 4 or 5.5. But I've fixed that in the "File-type-editor" ( same as in Win98 almost ). But still. The miniaturs are not showing. Why?

Please help.

Best regards

Maybe a re-installation would do the trick, but still, I can't be the final solution - right ?? Okay. Dell installed this copy of Win2k on this laptop, and the one I've installed myself is working even before and after installing Photoshop.

I still hope there is anyone who has an idea.

Does it happen with all files types or only those file types associated with Adobe?

Did Dell pre-install any Microsoft Office products?

It happened for all the files associated with Adobe.

Dell only pre-installed Win2k and some drivers and stuff.

I actually got it working again. All I did was a "repair installation" from the installation meny when you boot on the CD. Took 20 min maybe and now it's working again. I do think that this must be some register problem, and I'd be interesting to find out where the heck it is .. :-)

Thanx for your reply!
