Hello,

I am new to phone switch administration(sort of just got thrown into it) and have many questions, but for now I hope to post a simple one.
What are the minimun requirements to display Caller ID information on a phone?
Some hardware information:
G3V4 definity switch
7410 phones with display
8410 phones with display

If more information is needed just let me know.

Thanks:)

There are a few things you will need to check. Are you using PRI’s or T1’s for your inbound calls? The phone company will have to bet setup to forward the ANI to your PBX. I think it’s easier for them to forward ANI over PRI’s, but I think it’s possible to do it over T1’s, too. Also, I’m pretty sure ANI is a RTU (right to use) with Avaya, I just can’t remember where it’s at on the switch. You might want to thumb through “disp sys cust” to see if it’s there.
Hope this helped.

Tom
