Dear Experts,

I have purchased domain (suppose abc.org) and mailboxes from third party server (cPanel based). I have about 40 mailboxes and having 3GB of space.

Now i want to install exchange server in my office. Can any body tell me how can i migrate all mailboxes to exchange using same domain.

Do I need to get new IP for my new exchange Server?
If new IP then dO I need to have change in MX records?
Can i run parallel exchange server along with third party server.

Please guide me asap.

Regards
Saif ur Rab

New IP? Yes, fixed.
MX record change? Yes.
Parallel? Not really, emails would go to one or the other.

Guide you asap? Yes, sir. Anything else I can do for you?

As Zelandakh mentions, you shouldn't run both parallel.

Your question doesn't provide enough information for me to say for sure, but what you MIGHT be able to do, if the hosted solution is POP3, is setup Exchange correctly, and put it into production so that it's the working email server. Then use a third party POP3 connector to pull the mail off the ISPs server and dump it into the mailboxes.

Anything more than that, and you're getting billed an hourly rate. :)
