I have Novell Netware Server 5.1 NDS and Groupwise version 4.

I want to know the best practice for migrating to Windows 2000 Active Directory and Exchange 2000.

I am particularly interested in known issues and pitfalls. Things to look out for really.

Also, what utilities will I need and are these to fully perform the migration and are these free of charge

Thanks

Here some information i think you already have this.

Services for NetWare (v.5)
In addition to the many built-in connectivity services included with Windows 2000, Microsoft also provides NetWare add-on utilities in a separate product called Services for NetWare version 5, which specifically address integration with NetWare. These services include the Microsoft Directory Synchronization Services, File Migration Utility, and File and Print Services for NetWare

File Migration Utility
The File Migration Utility (FMU) is an add-on utility included in Services for NetWare 5 that provides a central management console to automatically manage the migration of files from NetWare file and print servers to Windows 2000 Servers

migrating groupwise
Exchange Server Migration Wizard is the primary tool for migrating mailbox data from Novell GroupWise to Exchange 2000. The Migration Wizard is available in the Exchange Server Administrator program
