Hello we have 3 exchange servers. 2 are 5.5 and one is 2k. I have moved all the connectors from the 5.5 servers to the 2k servers, and everything runs great. All emailboxes were migrated, and the 5.5 servers are no longer powered on, and email flows smoothly.

I deleted both of the 5.5 servers from the site, and everything went okay, but they still appear greyed out in Exchange System Manager, although in AExchange administrator they are no longer present in the site.

Everything production side works perfectly, I would just like to get those two servers somehow removed from the site so that I can switch it to native mode. The change mode button is greyed out.

See faq858-3483 for all about migration

Sorry about that.

Okay, I used exchange administrator and moved all of the mailboxes from the orgiginal 5.5 servers to the new 2000 box and everything. Then I shut down the servers everyone could send email fine. I went into exchage manager with the 5.5 servers shut down, and I deleted them out of the site. It asked me was I sure and all that good stuff, I said yeah and delted the server.

Now the servers no logner show up in exchange admin, but when I go to exchange system manager, the two servers show up as greyed out in the system. They are still there, just greyed out, the 2000 box is alive and well. The two boxes still being in their greyed out state is keeping me from moving the server to native mode.

I cannot delte the boxes out because in system manager it will not allow you to do this, when I log into the 5.5 admin program, they are not there, and only the 2000 server shows up as present.

The records of the two servers are still in the directory, and I dont know how to get them removed. They show greyed out, but I cant get them to go away.

Bleh, dont worry about it. I spent 48 hours bringing that bastard of a server back up. It was jacked up from the ghetgo, its no ones fault really.

Thanks anyways.:)

After deleting the Exchange 5.5 Servers you have to uninstall SRS (Site Replication Service) using the Exchange 2000 CD. Start the "setup.exe" and the in the list of components to be installed modified - remove SRS.
Then you will be able to switch to Exchange native mode.
