Hi I'm in the middle of a Ex5.5 to E2K migration design phase.

Due to political reasons we need to migrate to a different org name.
No issues about that but i'm experiencing some difficulties.

One problem that arises is that on the 5.5 org there is a great amount of public folders used (17 GB)
In some kind of way during migration (+/- 6 mnths time)they have to be replicated between the e5.5 and the e2k org.
I looked into the InterOrg utility but we don't succeed into getting it to work to replicate public folders between an e5.5 and an e2k organisation

Is this possible? if so what version has to be used?

thx for your replies !
kind regards

Bart,

If it is a real migration (meaning cutting off exchange 5.5 after successful migration to Ex2000), the easiest way is exporting all public folders to PST, and importing back to Exchange 2000.

If coexistance and replication is needed afterwards (both systems stay up and running), I can't shake a solution out of my shirt-sleeves for the moment :D

uhuh, this is a real migration, i don't perform this everyday for fun ;-)

coexistance is needed during migration (+/- 6 mnths)
then 5.5 should be phased out.

i know the pst solution but that requires lotsa work (17GB of several trees deep folders) and the limit for pst is only 2GB

sigh

if anyone can shed some light in this dark tunnel i'm heading to please do.......

thx pdtit for the reply !
