Our old 2000 server is starting to show its age. We would like to replace it with a newer 2003 server. Is there a way to migrate the all the domain settings, users, permissions, etc to the new server or do we have to recreate everything.

TIA

You can migrate AD if it is a DC by makign the new server a DC and waiting 15 minutes for replicaiton.

Regarding file and share permissions. Use XCACLs to document what you currently have andyou will need to reshare the folders and set up the permissions.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
