I am doing some testing with migrations and would like to see if I can do the following:
Server1 running W2K/ADS/E2K with Domain1 and SMTP Namespace @domain1.com
Server2 running NT4/E5.5/PDC with Domain2 and SMTP Namespace @domain2.com
Steps:
*Changed LDAP port in Exchange 5.5 to 390
*Upgraded NT4 to W2K
*Integrate as Child domain to domain1
*Configure DNS so both domains see each other
*Configure Security on both Exchange Systems for full access both ways
*Apply W2K SP3
*Configure ADC to replicate Org, Site and Recipients to *child domain/users
*Run E2K upgrade
E2K Upgrade reports that the 'Display Name' of the E5.5 Organisation is not the same as the Organisation name in AD.
After changing the display name to be the same (domain1) the upgrade reports that the site information has not replicated yet. An error 101 reporting that the setup database engine has stopped is logged in the event log and nothing else.
Can you integrate two Exchange Organisations in to different child/parent domains?
Can you run more than one Exchange Organistion in a single forest?
Any help would be appreciated.
