hi all
ms access 2003 ( originally built in v97)
ms word 2003 on windows xp

interesting problem.\
I am tryin to bring fields into a word doc from a query in ms access. The mdb uses odbc to a oracle 9 db. In this query i can drop out one specific field selection criteria-- then I can import the data fields to a new word doc n/p.

If i leave this one field selection criteria in the query - the data will not import. This one field is the selection for the query, by that, I mean it has the select criteria filled in w/ a "like".
field1 like "smi*"
If I remove the LIKE and replace the LIKE w/ a '=' 'SMITH' I get the correct recordset.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

thanks

I have run into this with ADO so I guess this is worth a try... Try changing the * to %. Don't know if that will work or not but give it a try.

Hope this helps.
