Can you turn off the midnight routine so it doesn't DSBL digital TN's if the phone is unplugged.

yes, in ld 22 prt ovly, then where you see drol, go into ld 17 and change ovly and "x" 30

Remove LD 30 in your OVLY settings.

LD 17
chg
type: OVLY enter till you reach DROL
DROL x30 enter till you reach req

Thanks alot i'll give it a try is nothing anywhere else that will DSBL the TN's
if the phones are unplugged for a while, I need to leave a number of call diverts on after the phones are unplugged.

I'm on software level 4.5

if a port is active after the last midnite routine, it will stay active until the next one, regardless if a set is plugged in

If it is only a few, you can pardon them from Midnight routines with CLS chg. It isn't recommended to leave 30 out, more so with pentiums than moto, but neither is recommended. I'm runnging with the Deer this week, but someone can give you that CLS if you would prefer this route, not with my books.

Remember that by taking out LD 30 from the MIDs you are not doing some of the connectivity checks that should be run daily.

Also, I believe when LD 30 starts, that is what tells the Clock Controllers to swap. That is functionality you don't want to lose either.

Thanks alot, does anyone know how to pardon the TN's from midnight check

if your running a smaller system, one that is less the half full.. not a problem.. if your system is pushing cpu/ram limits your asking for free ini's.. nortel does not disable unplugged sets for kicks, they do it to keep from having to send keep alive to dozens of sets non stop due to the load on the switch..

i had a major problem with a larger switch years ago, always seemed to ini at peak times. almost every card had been changed. seemed they had 200 sets built that were not in service... once i disabled those, outed the 100+ that were never used, problem went away.

The general consensus here is don't do it. The question that begs asking is why do you want to unplug sets in the first place?

How does FLXA stop the set from being tested in LD30?
=====================================================

FLXD Flexible voice/data Denied
FLXA Flexible voice/data Allowed

FLXA is only allowed for Aries sets.

By entering FLXA, you may configure dynamic voice/data
TNs by assigning VCE to the upper TN (unit 16-31) and
DTA to the lower TN (unit 0-15). You also have the option
of designating a SCR key as DTM (data mode).

Warning: If connecting the Aries set only to the TCM loop,
this option should not be specified. External equipment
which can use this capability should be connected.

Warning: When changing from CLS DTA to CLS VCE,
CLS WTA should also be assigned to avoid conflict with
CLS CPTA. CLS CPTA is the default for VCE TNs.

It doesn't stop it from being tested, it just doesn't disable it if it fails the test because it isn't there.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Thanks Ace, now that that is out of the way. What in the hell is this about????

Program operation
When invoked automatically by the system, the program performs the
following tests:
• network memory of each enabled network card
• continuity of the speech path to each PE shelf (for enabled loops
only)
• signaling channel to each line or trunk card (on enabled loops only)
• signaling channel through each Integrated Services digital line card
to each Digital telephone or data TN
• clock controllers are switched (if either DTI2 or PRI2 are used when
LD 30 is run in midnight mode, clock controllers will not be
switched)
For the Integrated Voice Messaging System (IVMS), the program does not
test Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) positions when the positions belong
to IVMS-DN groups.
Digital telephones that pass the signaling test have their date and time updated
to match the system clock.
Any SL-1 telephone or card that fails the signaling test may be disabled by
this program. Use LD 32 to re-enable them.
