I recently upgraded my own system from 5.0 to 6.1 on my MICS 0 X 32 so I could have the feature of Caller ID on all sets when they ring and Lines starting at the top on the T7316 series phones. I have one of the old CI cards that fits flush in the box that I am using in slot 3. I can not get a dial tone on any of the lines (1-3). I know there is dialtone at the punch down block. Do I have to purchase the new CLID card to make this work now that I have 6.1? I did a FULL re-install on the system to set it up (I did this when I moved my office so I had to reconfigure anyway)

Also, I have not set it up yet, but I have also bought new software for my Call Pilot. I had Release 1 and went to Rel 2. Can I just backup my old messages and restore them to the new software? I am keeping the 3 extensions the same as they were before we moved and those are the only ones that still have messages in the box. I also had MB and Call Routing turned on in the old software. Will that transfer?

Thanks for the help. - Barney

did you remember to re-number trunk assignments? ie trunk locations on card 2 changed from 25-28 to 31-33 and the numbers of the first TM moved from 48-51 to 61-63.

Did not know I had to do that.. I finally at 3 am, installed a LS/DS card in slot 3 and the CI card in slot 4. I was able to add to get it to work, but for some reason, sometimes the lines disappear and also the CID is not working when I call the lines. I turned it on for my set with NAME.

By the way, the 2 lines showed up as Lines 31 and 32

Did you program callerid set to yes ?
in 6.1 this is done under each set under telco features

Yes. I went into T & S, entered my extension, Telco Freatures and turned on Called ID and selected Name.

Barney

did you purchase CLID from the telco. If so, have you confirmed it is arriving on site?

Lines 31 and 32 are slot 3 so if you have the LD/DS card there then you will not get CLID on those lines.

ok.. Checked and changed a few things.

#1. I have a caller ID unit and yes, it is coming in on the first Ring.

#2. I put the CI card in slot 3 and the LS/DS card in slot 4. This gave me caller ID IF I press F811. It does not come up automatically when the phone rings. I doubled checked all setting on the 3 phones and they all have Caller ID to Y and Name as the display.

Any other thoughts?

to get it before answering the lines have to ring at the phone, and you need to program:
T&S/telco features/feature assignment/ (then bring up each line you want clid for)...
it will only offer you lines that are programmed to ring at the set.

ok... Thats fixed it. Am I supposed to see the CID Info on my cordless also when it rings?

Barney

ATA's do not pass CLID. If your cordless is integrated to the MICS via an ATA, it will not get CLID.

Got it... I forgot to change the CID back to Y when I was testing it. - Thanks!!
