We are installing a system from a customers former location and now they are straight analog. We pulled the T-1 and 6-port fiber card.

Now the system just sits there and says its in Maintenance Mode. Someone suggested to open up the MICS and short the capacitors to do a hard reset.

Does this sound right? Any thoughts on how to get the system back without getting a new software card?

We pulled it out because the system was much larger and now its just a 6X12. I guess we did not have to pull the fiber expansion out. If we put it back do think that would sove the problem. Also we installed 2-analog CO modules.

Thanks,

It's in maintenance because you pulled the 6 port. If you found the alarm set it would be asking to do a cold restart, that would default the system. You can either put it back in and it should come back up, or after it comes back up find out the dn for the alarm set, hook it up, then pull the card after you power down, and do the restart and reprogram from scratch. Anytime you down size the hardware on the KSU it wants to reset.

Thanks Phoneguy, that's alot better than getting a new card. I thought that pulling the board might cause it to boot slowly but did not think it would lock it up like it did. We had a test set on 221 which should be the alarm set but I have never seen this system running.

They brought it from another facility in another town, we are the lucky ones to get to install it.

We'll be there tomorrow and I will try your suggestion.

Thanks,
