We have been contracted to go out and fix an issue that a customer is having. The vendor went out and upgraded the MICS to 7.1 before the Flash was upgraded. I have to go out and upgrade the Flash to 2.0. I may have to reprogram due to extension numbers changing. I have 2 questions. It has been a long time so please forgive me.
1) Is it correct that under Feature 983, option 1 will reinstall the VM?
2) Is there any issue I need to watch out for when doing this?

Thanks

If you have to change DN length then yea you will need to reprogram the flash. If not the upgrade should be plug and play provided the memory holds.

To anwer your first question: yes plus the correct password.

If System before VM was done then you wont beable to access the VM.

So, if I just put in the software cartridge and upgrade the VM I still won't be able to access it?
What do I need to do to be able to access the VM?

You should be able to access it after upgrading the software. You'll likely need to do F903 first to activate the F980-989 range. Once it's configured your existing programming might still be intact, but it often defaults if trying to upgrade from an old release like 1.4 to 2.0.
