We have recently installed an MICS 0x32 (5.0 software) with a T1 card and NAM 4.0 voicemail. I am a complete novice to Nortel, but the sales guy stated that the T1 card would recognize caller ID when enabled by the telco. Do I still need a CLID card? The caller ID has been enabled by the telco but no caller info is displayed. Have been through the entire CONFIG menu and no apparent options to enable the caller ID from there. Anyone aware of how to solve this?

The sales guy forgot to say you also need the PRI enabler.

I am not sure about the 221 set, but will look into it...
We dicussed the PRI issue with the sales guy and he stated that the enabler was not needed since we did not have a PRI T1 line.

My understanding is that caller id will not work on T1 without it being PRI.

The guy told us that since our T1 was not PRI that we did not need a PRI enabler and that the caller ID info would filter down from the line to the MICS automatically. Sounds like we were misinformed?

try this.
go to Lines>>>trunk/line data>>>
and see if CLID Set is between Prime set and auto privacy.
the programming record shows that CLID set only shows for analog trunks but the Installer guide states that this area would show up for loop start digital lines and E&M digital trunks. one unfathomable item for norstar is why they only allow one of the ringing phones for a particular trunk to show the caller id data before the call is answered. after the call is answered this data is available to whoever is on line with that call (feat 811)
