Got an interesting (to me anyway) problem, I have a mics 4.1 with 10 2 way analog trunks as part of an overline (or rotary depending on what your area calls them). On line 6, we have a 'real number' which can be called directly which rings that trunk only. We have a NAM 4.0 set up just as a voicemail. DID lines are ordered, but are weeks away.

At night, the main rotary/overline number is call forwarded (at the CO) to an answering service, but we want to be able to have that line 6 ring on all the phones in the building so anyone working late can answer it. I think once we have DID numbers, we can have one that rings a hunt group on all the sets, but right now i dont see any way to make this happen.

Nearly all the sets are CFNA to voicemail, and some users also FTR 984 to directly cfw to vm, so a service won't work.

How do I make 60 telephones ring at once on line 6 only at night, with out going to anyone's voicemail?
Thanks for any help...

Cant be done. A telephone's foward no answer works off of ringing, and phones with mailboxes will pick up the calls. A night bell may be the way to go.

I think i found a way, but maybe someone has a cleaner way?
i take an m7100, set it up in the phone room, assign a service mode to ring that phone only during the night service on line 6 (the desired line).

Forward that phone into vmail using FTR 984.

Set up a mailbox that plays a greeting saying "press zero to ring all the phones in the building, or ** log into your mailbox"

Set the target attendant for that mailbox to 707 (the hunt group)

Set up a hunt group key on every phone in the building.

Its a drag in the sense that i have to use a phone and a port, too bad services cant ring a hunt group.

Any better ideas?

You can have line 6 answered with a greeting in night service then build a CCR tree to go out to that hunt group you have. just another idea.

Cool Hawks, how do i get the NAM to answer the line only during nite service? I see in the nam i can turn on and off line answer for each line, but how do i tell it to answer only for night?

Build a ringing group that you know no one is a part of.
Then assign the main vmail ext as a member of that group.
Assign line 6 to that group
Then make someone a control set for that line. That way when ever the control set goes to nights the line will follow that ringing group. Oh I forgot make sure under services you set nights to manual. I think that is pretty much it give it a try and let us know. I've done it in the past and don't think that I'm forgetting anything.
Good luck

Sounds interesting, but since most of the phones that ring have voicemail and are forwarded to voicemail using FTR 984, won't the call go to the lowest intercom mailbox in the group of phones that ring?

Not if you are going out into a hunt group like you said before. The call will follow what ever time you have the overflow set to and not the phone itself.

You can try this....
Set night service mode to ring to a non existant ext (Phatom DN) and then put a Ring DN key of the photom ext on your sets you want to ring.
