For one of our remote offices that will be movin soon, I've got the pleasure of setting up a system (MICS 4.0) that's been disconnected and on the shelf for many years. It's only going to have 3 incoming lines, and six extensions, this hardware may be a bit overkill, but it will work.

I've got it all hooked up for testing/learning in my office, connected to some analog ports from our Avaya system. The other day, I got NRU v10 working through the RAD, which I've never done before, I've always just hammered away on a 7310 set. I'm really enjoying what NRU lets me do.

My question: is there a similar piece of software available for working with the Startalk Flash module? I've connected to the Flash units via RS232 previously for printing reports, but never tried using the PC to help program the system.

Thanks!

Instard of opening the browser tool in the NRU open the set tool and you can atleast program VM thru the phone remotly.

yeah, I played around with the set tool in NRU a bit, and it'll come in handy in the future, but for right now, I'll just roll my chair over to the other desk and use the actual 7310.

Now I just need to decide on a structure for the messaging system. I'm assuming there's also no way to back up the Flash system programming? As in, once it's all set, and I unplug it from here, I wouldn't be able to just restore the system after re-connecting it in the new office?

Thanks guys!

Interesting.. how long does said super cap hold the programming for? I've actually already started programming, and I was planning on just leaving it connected to a UPS battery when I transport it to the new location.

Another quick question, if there is a "4" on the expansion card in the bottom half, does that mean it's a 4-channel unit? Or is that just 'slot number four'?

Thanks again!

I've seen caps hold programming for months, but on average it should hold for at least 30 days if the cap is new and fully charged. The 4 at the bottom indicates a 4-channel unit, requiring the use of 2 digital stations on the Flash.
