The line redirection on a DID is set to call out on line pool A. set up works ok and connectes to the programed number. the calling party can hear the the person answering the call. The person answering the call can not hear anything. Its not low transmition it is no transmition

Still on 4.0?
Wow!

I'd recommend selling them an upgrade to 7.1 and using External Call Forward.
There were many releases of 4.0 and all of them were buggy.
Same goes for 4.1.

Wow?

80% of the systems out there are still on older software, why would you be so suprised?.

You know how we get some good business from the Telco?
We troubleshoot first then purchase if need, where the Telco tells you to purchase first and loose the customer to us.

What happens when you do a conference call on 2 copper lines?

Also maybe try to specify a line for testing.

YOU DIDN'T SAY IF THE LINES ARE ON A T1 OR COPPER

And when you said the calling party hears the call answered are you saying that he hears a click, and the ringback stops

No he doesn't hear a click, he hears the the party to which the call has been forwarded to, say hellow are you there hellow and when you answer they can not hear you and if you press a dtmf button they can't hear that eather there is no transmition. The line redirection has been tried from another set also with the same results

ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE A BAD LINE, ARE YOUR OUTGOING LINES ON THE T1 ALSO. IF SO YOU WILL NEED SOME TYPE OF T1 TEST EQUIPMENT TO TROUBLE SHOOT THIS LIKE A TBERT. IF IT'S ON COPPER ALL YOUR GOING TO NEED IS A TEST SET.
EITHER WAY IF YOU DON'T HEAR THE CALLER LEAVING THE NORSTAR IT'S SOFTWARE

The only service this customer has is (1) T-1 DID DOD and the T-1 has no problems making or recieving calls an any of the 24 chanels on a normal phone call. The trouble happens only when trying to use line redirection. Sounds like a software malfunction but I was hopeing I had missed some simple programing action.
