For the past few days I am getting around 100 emails daily to my yahoo account from Microsoft Internet Security Upgrade etc..(I know it is not thru microsoft and some virus,,as MS do not distribute updates via email..). It clogs up my mail box and I miss important personal mails..Now I login every 2/3 hours and delete the 20-30 emails..Any idea how to stop this email coming to yahoo.

Each and every time the from email id is from unknown junk user and it is useless to have filters as the email id always varies..

Thx for responding.
I know this is a swen virus and I don't even open the attachments. But how do I stop it coming to my yahoo mail..I guess there is no way..Just go and delete it..untill it stops..

Yup. Looks like their AV isn't even stripping the attachments off, eh?

I've read postings from people using products such as SpamAssassin, but the problem remains....you have to wait out the bog-down period where the filter sorts through the 100-odd emails trying to come in.

Had some luck with using specific custom filters

Haven't had an overflow preventing personal email through since

Filters:
1 Deliver mail that contains internet in the to or cc lines will be automatically deleted.
2 Deliver mail that contains net in the from name will be automatically deleted.
3 Deliver mail that contains client in the to or cc lines will be automatically deleted.
4 Deliver mail that contains microsoft in the from name will be automatically deleted.
5 Deliver mail that contains ms in the from name will be automatically deleted.
6 Deliver mail that contains user in the to or cc lines will be automatically deleted.
7 Deliver mail that contains soft in the to or cc lines will be automatically deleted.
8 Deliver mail that contains microsoft in the subject will be automatically deleted.
9 Deliver mail that contains inet in the to or cc lines will be automatically deleted.

mdengtek, I'm glad you aren't my penpal -- you'd be rejecting my email (*@comcast.NET) :)
