Microsoft Update

Hello all,

I'd like to get the computers in the office to use the new Microsoft Update rather than just Windows Update but I've so far not been able to find any way to do so apart from surfing to that page on each computer and download the program.
Surely there has to be some sort of download that we can push out to the users for those of us who manage more than just a handful of machines?

You cannot install the Automatic Update Client

I stole the phrase "automagicly" from a Microsoft Windows network product group member. I have used it once before, and it too received a comment such as yours.

Thanks, do that client also download updates for Office to the computer?

I don't know for sure, I think it is something that may be coming soon, but at the moment I am still visiting the Microsoft Office Update site.

I did notice a couple of days ago that there was a SP2 for Office 2003 that is available for download (at the MS Office site), you could easily check to see if your Office programs reflect this update, or whether you have to download it from the Office site.

The new site, Microsoft Update, includes office service packs. The original site did and does not.

More comprehensively (and slower) it offers updates for supposedly all Microsoft products.

All the clients are automatically updated through Windows Update but have not recieved the new Microsoft Update.
Does anyone know how to change all the machines to use Microsoft Update instead? Is there a file that I can push out and have installed on the machines that achives the same as the ActiveX control on the website?

our office have over 300 pc's. each work station is set up to receive update automatically! in control panel under automatic updates. that's how it receives updates automagically!.
