Hello,

Using Microsoft query, I have linked an Excel Workbook to an Access query. If I send someone this Excel file they get a message asking if they want to "Enable" or "Disable" query refresh. If I send this to someone who does not have access to the Access database (like it is stored on a different network drive) and they click "Enable" will this really work and refresh their data from my database? I hope not, I was just wondering how this would/could work. It seems like they would have to have the database, the Microsoft query file and the Excel workbook to make the Enable actually work.

Any ideas?

Julia

Hey wunderY,

They can't refresh unless they have access to the Access that you accessed. (Is that excessive access?)

So refresh data won't do anything.

Hope this helps :)
