When in My computer and browsing down (5) 200k word files with keyboard arrow keys, I see over 1 meg of data go from server to desktop without even opening files. Sniffer trace shows files are actually being cached to desktop - I can actually see the contents of the files. It seems office suite is staged file so word looks fast when file is opened. Has anyone ever heard of this. Sniffer trace with 95 machines show no network traffic at all when browsing mapped network drive untile files are opened.
