MIcrosoft Office 2000 help is missing`

I've loaded Microsoft Office 2000 Pro SR-1 twice now and my help screens show up but they are blank. In Excel or Word, I clieck on the "HELP" tab. In Excel I choose "Microsoft Excel HELP". A window opens but it remains totally blank.

Appreciate your feedback.

go 2 start, settings, control panel, add/remove programs, microsoft office, select change, and then add/remove features. under each drop down for Excel, Word etc, click on Help and choose install on first use.

I'll give it a try; however, when I initially installed I specified EVERYTHING on the CD to be RUN from my computer.

Well I did try that suggestion. Excel said it wanted to install HELP and it went through the motions - no help.

So what I see is a window opens and there is a blank window with a window title line at the top left of the creen. Initially it is blank but a bit of switching between windows
and the words "Microsoft Excel Help" along with a min, max, close icon set in the uppper right corner. No text, not grphics, nada.

I think its a DLL problem.

Strange, strange.

I loaded Office XP onto the box and still no help appears - just a blank window where it should be displayed.

Guess this means some DLL or such is trashed somewhere - probably have to wipe the disk and start all over again.

Do you have Internet Explorer installed?

Have you tried running Repair Office from the control panel?

Have you gone into the registry and renamed the Office registry key (call it OfficeX or something) and THEN reinstalled Office? The key:

hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\9.0 (2000)
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\10.0 (XP)
