When starting sql enterprise manager i get the following error:

Microsoft Management Consloe box..

snap-in failed to initialize
name: Meta Data Services
CLSID: {1DBA4DD4-EB97-4FD2-AB80-9DOD4BA74034}

Any ideas would be greatfully received!!

Its a SQL 2000 install on Windows 2003 box with sql service pack 3 applied!

thanks

I would try reinstalling the Client Tools from the SQL Server install disk. That will reinstall Enterprise Manager, Books on Line, Query Analyzer......

If that doesn't work (and it didn't for me), check the SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC. I had to rename mine when I was at a different company (don't remember what I renamed it to exactly. I think I just shortened it to one word) and it worked.

If that doesn't work, then head to this discussion and see if .dll unregistration and re-registration helps.
Hope that helps!
