I have a 50 licenses on my server, I exceded that number so I purchased 10 more. I added those 10 more licenses using the "licensing tab" on administrative tools.
My question is " How come after adding the licenses, windows didnt prompt me to input a license key. It didnt ask me for anything, I just added 10 more so now it shows i have 60. I find that wierd, can someone help? Thanks

The Licensing Manager is there simply to assist you to ensure you're in compliance, it doesn't "enforce" anything. I've turned my licensing service off on my servers because it's a PITA and not needed.

I agree on disabling the service. All it does is warn you in the event logs and it doesnt release licenses from people that havent worked here for 2 years and computers that are 6 years old and have been given away to a school a year ago.

Keeping paper copies is all I do. Auditors may not like it, but they dont have to deal with the program...

Ok guys this is odd, I purchased the licenses,I added them in the server, everything seemed ok, after 3 weeks im getting the same error message that Im going to be running out of licenses soon an I need to purchase more. How would I turn the lisence manager off. Its very annoying, everytime in log into the server is there.

You open your Services snap in, stop the service, then change it to disabled.

That's basic admin fodder...
