Microsoft Exchange Server Problem

On occassion, a certain user email account will get backed up in our exchange server. for example, in outlook, when you hit "send and receive", it will get so far through the Receiving process (81% complete in this case) and stop. and time remaining will keep increasing. However, He can still get test emails if i send one from my email account. Any ideas what causes this and how i can stop it??

O/S?
Outlook version?
Firewalls (including Windows firewall)?

Cached-mode or not?

Have you tried letting the long-send/receive run until complete - even if it takes a couple of hours?
I had a user with this problem and letting it run out solved it.

I rebuilt his Outlook profile also, just in case.
