I am install Microsoft Exchange Administrator 5.5 into one of my machine, but i can't connected to my server to perform administration. What setting need to be done on my machine, i am new user for exchange.

Are you getting a specific error when trying to connect? Are you using the \\ before typing the server name? In Exchange you have to have a certain level of permissions to open Exchange Admin program. Make sure you are using an account with correct permissions. You may also need admin on your local machine.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

Exchange Administrator has to be service-packed to the same level as your Exchange server installation. In other words, if your Exchange server is running SP4, then you must apply Exchange SP4 to your workstation after installing the Exchange Administrator. If you are not an Exchange administrator with proper permissions in the Exchange environment, you will not be able to connect to Exchange using the tools described.

Try to find a copy of Exchange Server 5.5 Unleashed, published by SAMS. You really MUST develop an understanding of how Exchange 5.5 works if you want to properly care and feed the Exchange server. Also, if you are using a third-party backup program (Veritas, etc.), make sure you obtain the Exchange module. Otherwise, use NT Backup. If you don't, you'll be sorry.
