Microsoft Data Link -Timeout Expired

Microsoft Datalink Error
First time test connection failed.
1) TimeOut Expired.
2) Login failed. Catalog information cannot be retrieve.

But in second time in test connection, then the test connection will be succeed.

It cause everytime login will cause the problem timeout expired.
So any suggestion on how to troubleshoot/solve these problem?

Note:mapping to SQL server OK.

Maybe it's a thing with the wins server? Or perhaps you should take a look at the hosts file on the pc to see is the server name and ip address set up in there.
