Can someone explain to me why when I run a query it brings the results back in approx. 10 seconds, but when I use this same query from a report, it takes at least 15 minutes or longer before the print preview displays.

I would think that if the query runs quick, the report should also run the same length of time, but this is not the case and I cannot understand why.

Thanks in Advance for your help....

I dunno the answer, but the solution might be running the query, and using it to create a table, and basing the report on the table instead of the query.

Things I would check:

Does the report apply any additional grouping or sorting not performed by the query?

Does the report contain any calculated controls (running sums, aggregate functions like DLookup, custom functions, etc.)?

Does print preview care what kind of printer/driver you are using? (I don't know if this matters or not)
