Micros E-mails

Does anyone know how to edit the e-mails from the Micros POS? Our old GM had set them up so she got daily e-mails of the sales and even though she is no longer with the company she is still receiving them and I need to stop this. Called the company and have set up a couple of cases, but I have to say their customer support lacks....

Any help would be appreciated.

It is likely generated through an autosequence. You'll need open POS Configurator and go to System|Autosequences. Look for one with a name like email daily reports. On e you've found it, note its object number to the left of its name. Open System|Autosequence Steps. In the drop down at the top, scroll until you get to the auto sequence. There will be a set of steps; the one you are looking for will likely be linked to an external program. Find the external program it's linked to, click on the step, and then click the folder icon next to the external programs. Scrolls through that list to the right external program. This is where things get iffy... It could be a batch file, or could be a direct link to a program executable with the switches in the actual external program setup. See if you can get that far and post back what you find out.

On the other hand... It could be even trickier than that. My company uses a service we install which then had its own interface for configuring emailed reports completely separate from POS Configurator. You'll need to do some digging and let us know some more info before we can help.

Another easy way of targeting the autosequences,

Start | Run | SchedulerStatus.exe

This will show you all the autosequences that are scheduled for automated execution.

If this doesn't look to turn them up may want to try to run "at" without any params on command line to see what that yields.

If you can find a step in your autosequences that's sending the emails another option is to set the "skip step" option to True until you figure out how to direct the emails to the new GM. At least this way sales data won't be getting forwarded to an ex-employee.

Worst comes to worst, you can always (if you have it) change the password for the smtp account it is using. Then the program probably won't be able to send emails anymore.
