Micros 3700 - Open Item / Special Instruction Custom Reports

Hey everyone,

First, Merry Christmas!

I was wondering if anyone has a customer report that shows all "Open Items" and all "Special Instructions" done in a given day? Obviously, these two buttons are needed, but there's no way (without going through lots of journals) to see the open items and special instructions. Specifically:

- Open Item Amount
- Open Item Description

- Ideally a separate report for Special Instructions

I reached out to our Micros Dealer and while they have Crystal Reports, the coders aren't familiar how to make a report for these two items and (for the most part) can only edit existing reports. If someone has a report I could simply upload and show up in Reports that would be ideal?

Why not just do a menu item sales report and set it to show the range of items that are open? I know on the systems I've set up I leave an Open Food, Open Liquor, Open Retail and Open Beer/Wine button for them to use in a pinch. Or do you have more than that? If you do, I suppose it probably wouldn't be that hard to whip up a sim to print a 40 column report with the info. It would just be a matter of doing an SQL query like.. hmm...

FROM micros.mi_def AS items
JOIN micros.mi_type_class_def AS types
ON items.mi_type_seq = types.mi_type_seq
WHERE types.ob_mi01_preset = 'F'

.. and then build a report off of that.

Sorry.. my mind is on SIMs right now (picky customer) so I'm using that as a solution to everything right now.

The transaction analyzer can probably do it more easily =) I know I use that for open discounts to group by reference at a few of my locations (the airport mainly, where the reference are things like Delta, Airtran, etc).
