Micros 3700 - Discount Detail

Hey Everyone,

We have a police discount (and it works correctly), however I want to have a POP UP field that will let me type in the officer's name. Is there a way to require/force/prompt the user (privilege level 2 currently, if that's needed) to type in the officer name when they click the discount button?​

I don't what POS u have but typically if you examine the discount programming in the database you'll likely come across a field or parameter that states "info required", "details required" etc. that will prompt the keyboard to the screen and if you have a discount button that already compulses info you'll see it there. It's also worth considering having the name print on checks, dupes and reports as well for more accountability and auditing.

It was "Reference Required" on Micros 3700. We already had employee names print and only shift managers can discount, but we needed a name to track discounts, as well.​
