Hi all.
I have a 3640 with a 24 port Mica modem module.
I am confused about the numbering scheme of the modem when it receives incoming calls.
The port number for the mica is 0-23 for a total of 24 ports. The port serial0:23 is used for the D channel on the T1. That is what's confusing.
I dial in and then do a show isdn status on the 3640..which tells me I have 1 active call. Then i do a show async status which tells me the async int like async65. I then do a show int async65 and it tells me modem(slot/port):2/23. (It alternates ports randomly). My confusion is, If port 23 is used for the D channel, why would an inbound call be assigned this port number? My telephony guy and I are goind around and around about this. I just think it's a numbering scheme issue...
Please help me understand this.
Thanks
