Hi all,

I want to measure an interfaces speed and or up down status on a router

if i use snmpwalk with the interface up then with it down i see two lines that change.

IF-MIB::ifOperStatus.37 = INTEGER: up(1)
and
1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5.2 = Gauge32: 10000000

great i have located exactly what im after but

if i use mrtg to poll these mibs i get and error telling me that it didnt evaluate to a number , prob because after the = there is text only for the first mib and for the other before the number there is also text.

thing is how can i get mrtg to look at this correctly ?

any ideas would be really helpful.
