Hello,

I've installed Crystal on several machines for a client of mine over the course of about 5 years. The last time I ran into an error referencing mfc42.dll was several versions ago. I am trying to install version 8.5 on a Compaq machine running Windows NT over a Novell network. The installation was successful however, when I click on the icon to start Crystal I received the following error message:

"The ordinal 6905 could not be located in dynamic link library mfc42.dll."

I have never seen this error and I'm wondering if anyone else has? Thanks!

MFC.Dll refers to Microsoft Foundation Classes - essentially a bunch of C++ functions needed to run a windows programs.

You might have an old version. I've found installing a new version of Internet Explorer often fixes things up. For example IE4 had a bunch of strange bugs, and installing IE5.0 made them all go away. Editor and Publisher of Crystal Clear
