Hi,

I just did a new install of VB 6.0 and when I open VB 6.0 for the first time, I get the following error:

method '~' of object '~' failed

The title of the error message box is 'Data View'

It's on a Windows Server 2000 machine.

Does anyone know how this error can be fixed??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please do a search, this has been covered many times.

In short, this error message is COM's default error message. You get it when it doesn't know what else to show you.

So, I would investigate some component, or a dependent component, not being registered correctly. Perhaps you didn't have admin authority when you installed?
