Is it possible to take two separate (no duplication of anything) metadata repositories created on 7.2.3 both in Oracle 9i both on Win 2003 server and "combine" them? We have a contracted service project that created their MSTR project on a standalone server for testing. Now they need to get their metadata into our production repository as well as somehow get their project on our server.

Suggestions???? Thanks!

yikes, MSTR has a specific system to merge projects. But like visual studio, you need to have a common parent in order to "merge".

I think you might have to manually recreate the contracted project. You can print the entire project documentation to help you out.

Are you combining objects from different projects or are you simply moving a project from one MD onto another? I think you are referring to the latter.

The metadata configuration objects have IDs that you can modify. I would take the Dev and change it to match Prod. This is completely unsupported and you need backups galore. But give it a shot; you have nothing to lose.

Yes - it's called Project duplication. Just duplicated the contracted service project into your production repository, and load it to your production Server. You will need to make some DSNs the same way as in the contricted service project server.
