Hi all, before you post anything, I know I'm an idiot!....

I was just messing with the initial size of my log file settings to try an understand why you would even need to set an initial size...and.... well, I set it to just under 8 gig (I know, I know..)... anyway, it was letting me set it lower, only when checking it again I noticed it doesn't update back to 1 MB, so... I made another log.ldf at 1 MB thinking I could then just delete the first (8gig one) and all would be fine... only now I have two log files one of which is massive.

Can anyone tell me how I set it back to 1 MB and how to delete the extra one, I'm really in a pickle here, thanks for any help you can offer this complete FOOL!...

Backup your database first.

Put the database in single user mode and detach it.

Delete the existing log files.

Re-attach the database using:
sp_attach_single_file_db (look upihow to do this part in Books Online)

Take the database out of single user mode.
