I'm having an issue sending SMTP messages to a few
external domains. I believe all of the problem external
domains have custom recipients in the GAL, but not all
custom recipients are a problem. For example: When sending to
anyuser@umn.edu from our Exchange 5.5 system I get:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended
recipients.

Subject: message from Jeremy
Sent: 4/6/2004 5:55 PM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'anyuser@umn.edu' on 4/6/2004 5:55 PM
The recipient name is not recognized

I have tried to recalculate the routing, but all seems to
be fine with the default smtp address space. External
email works great, I'm only seeing issues with this
domain and a few others. Our system uses four sites connected through site connecters and one IMS connector to handle SMTP. All other inbound and outbound mail seems to work great. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

I too have similar problem. Mails sent to certain domains and servers bounce back. There is no header information to trace. I am sure the mail is bounced by SMTP server itself.
