Message Waiting

We had a user that stated her message waiting light was constantly on. I went into the switch and decided to clear amw XXXX. Now her message waiting light won't come on when she has a message. Any suggestions?

In audix - Display activity log on this subscriber and make sure the audix is trying to turn the light on. If you have multiple locations, make sure that the switch number is correct. In PBX make sure message lamp ext is correct on page 1 of station form. Status station and see if there is a message waiting. If all of these look ok, try a different phone.

Thanks for the reply. Switch number is correct. The activity log does show a MWI-on, however when I do a status station within the switch, no message appears. Also, we did try switching the phone out. Any suggestions?

easyist way is to remove the station, dup a similiar station
 
What is the LWC Reception set to? Change Station xxxx page two, first line item.

It should be set to audix, or msa-spe, depending on what type of AUDIX you have.

Make sure she has cleared all existing messages out of the mailbox. This is a problem common to most VM systems, the light will not be re-activated as long as there is a new unheard message there. Paul Beddows

We have experienced this problem several times in Definity. Usually what we have found is that there is a message for that station in LWC..go to the console and retrieve message for the extension and delete..this has cleared our problems more than once.
