I have IP Office 500 version 8.1, is there a way to test if MWI (message waiting light) is working?

I did but light does not turn on, is there another way like an on code or something just to test if it is working?

Shortcodes.

SC = *91*N# ( or what ever you use as a shortcode )
TN = N"; Msgs=1"
Function = Display Msg
Turn off
SC = *90*N# ( or what ever you use as a shortcode )
TN = N"; Msgs=0"
Function = Display Msg

Only for the user dialling the SC:
SC = *91 ( or what ever you use as a shortcode )
TN = U"; Msgs=1"
Function = Display Msg

SC = *90 ( or what ever you use as a shortcode )
TN = U"; Msgs=0"
Function = Display Msg

NOTE : there is a space between the ; and Msgs or use this code
Create a user shortcode like this:
SC = *699
TN = 699"; Msgs=0"
Action = Display Msg

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thank tlpeter, I will be doing some tests.

The reason for this tests is that I have a voicemail that is connected by SIP to the IP OFFICE, I see n the voicemail that it send the instruction to light up the message lamp but I don't receive the acknowledge from the IP Office.

Any ideas on what to check from the IP Office part?

LOL : turn on that light!
To be honest I don't think firing up a message lamp is possible with SIP, only VM Pro can do that or tlpeters shortcodes ( which aren't his really )

A simple mind delivers great solutions

Intrigrant, indeed not mine :)
But the search button on this site gave me these from 2006 :)

the instructions send by SIP look like this:

Messages-Waiting: yes\r\n
Message-Account: sip:422@172.10.32.8\r\n
Voice-Message: 3/0 (0/0)\r\n

it uses port 5060

You can see that IPOffice is looking for codes like what tlpeter posted.
If you can change what is sent you may be able to build tlpeters short codes then figure a way to send the codes the way IPO needs to see it.

Maybe it is futile, maybe you can build a SIP URI to use ICR to match a short code. I don't know.
Seems to me that the asterisk community has it figured out by now. Or not.
