Message Waiting Lamp

Good Morning folks.

I have read a through a few threads in regards to my issue and tried the solutions yet am still having a problem.

Issue:
Client would like extension 100, which belongs to a user, used for all messages to be left by customers. Their AA says to leave a message dial 100.
I would like to light the message lamp for all users so they know there is a VM in this box.

I created a group called GVM and added extension 100 to this group.
I then configured the users source code as follows: HGVM

When I leave a message for 100, the light does not light on any other extensions other than 100, although I can see HG GVM in visual VM.

Ehat am I doing wrong?

That only allows me to dial 877 to retrieve messages in 100. I would like to light the message lamp though for any message left in 100.

Reading further, I see that it is not possible to do what I initially asked.

This client only has embedded VM. No VM Pro.

Still not working. I have read this thread that says lighting the lamp for another mailbox is not possible.

Indeed. Make 100 a hunt group and you can. Bit of programming.

Thanks HM34. If I create a huntgroup and add 100 and give the HG an extension, I will only be able to light the lamp for the group extension, and not for 100. Is this correct?

Call the hunt group 100. Voicemail on. Give the extension a new number, voicemail off. Make it a sequential member of HG100. Set DND on new extension, goes to HG100 voicemail.

Create a HG name it whatever you like. However you need to use the exact same name in the source tab of the user you want to light his light when message is left
example. you create a HG name Main.

Go to user that you wish have the light turn on when message left in Main.
Under his source tab program GMain
Works with Visual Voice also.

Thanks NYSTECH, but this will only light the light for the group VM and not the individual VM extension 100

That is not possible.
Use visual voice and use a group voicemail.
Group VM in the group VM folder and personal VM in the personal VM folder.

Thank you guys for all the help. I understand it my initial question is not possible.

I have created a phantom user and added this to a GVM group.

AA menu choice will transfer to this groups extension number and I will use the source code tab for each user to light thier lamp when a message is left in the HG.
