I just was prompted from Outlook to "autoarchive" my messages. Does this mean that my messages are being stored on my local machine and NOT on the server? If so, how do I change that? How can I confirm that my messages are being stored on the server?

This message appears regardless of whether or not you are connected to an exchange server or a local .pst. Did you cancel the wizard or did you proceed with autoarchiving? If you canceled the wizard then nothing happened.

Your messages are always being stored on the server unless you do the auto-archive or specifically move them to a PST.

To turn off auto-archiving go to tools, options, other, auto-archive within Outlook.

However you need to check whether your server deletes messages after a certain time in which case you might want to auto-archive.
My company deletes anything in the inbox after 6 months for instance.
