message manager very slow

we have Message Manager and it is very slow.
it takes a few seconds to come up on PCs.
Once it's on it suddenly plays the same message over and over even though youv'e deleted the message and are clicking on another one.
All my PCs are Windows 2000. the processor speed is not an issuse because it does the same thing on a P4 1.5Gig machine that it does on a PIII 700.

IMapi R4.0, 4.4.1
