HI Guys
IPO 500v2 ver 7.

According to the User guide the MESSAGE button should glow red when a message is left
1408, 1416 phones

when i have a new messages in the huntgroup mailbox and assigned to the extn Source tab Hmain off the extn i want to see messages.
The Message button does not light up but the LED at the top right of the phones Lights up.

I know i use to see this Button glow red before on other systems i installed.

Is there a tick box to allow this button to light up.

That's not a backlit button, I think you are thinking of the call log button or the 96 series :)

Just read the user guide, no mention of an illuminated button just the message waiting light :)

Hi Guys
I have re read the guides that i have and it clearly states the Message BUTTON led glows red.

I know the system i put in that had 9504 phones the message button Glowed red.

Voicemail
Your phone is equipped with a Message button that provides access to your voicemail inbox. On systems utilizing ‘Embedded Voicemail’ the Message button will glow red when a new and unheard message is present in your inbox.

Note: On all phones the lamp at the top-right corner will glow when a new message arrives:

But now when i think a bit more i wonder is it just on the 9500-9600 series phones the button glows red.

Its a strange one but its going to bug me as one off my collegues also says it did light for him.

Thanks for the replys
If i see it working i will take a !!!!!photo for proof!!!!!
HA- HA

It should light up.
Do a "self test" from the menu.
Our will burn all leds on the phone.
When it does not burn then it is broken.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

from the 9500 guide section 12

12.1 Message Waiting Indication

Both the MESSAGES button and the message lamp on your phone are used to indicate when you have new
messages in your voicemail mailbox. They remain lit until you have played each of the new messages.
The system administrator can also configure it so that you receive new message waiting indications for hunt groups.

Snowman, try the self test and see if the light works.

But you are talking about 1400 series phones, you can't follow the docs from the 9500 series, they are totally different :)

That said I don't know for sure they don't light up, can't say I have ever noticed tbh :)

I think they do on the 1400 Andy.

sorry guys
i will try the phones when i get a chance.

I know the phones are 9500 and 1416 phones .
and i know this led did work on both types before so i will try it when i get at another system.

Yes i will also try self test.

I will let you know

They are not a backlit button on the 1400 series, see self test below:

Then i suppose it is the way it is :)

I didn't think I was going crazy, it isn't in the docs for those handsets so that was the main clue :)

Great Photo

I did the self test as instructed and the LED does not light.

So the 1400 range don't light up.

I will have to try the 9504 phones to see if it works

Thanks for taking an interest
I guess we can put this to bed now.

PS how do you put a photo on to the page.

The 9504 will light the message button for sure.
