What is the easiest way for me to integrate an Engenius Single Line Cordless Phone so that it's pretty much the same line appearance as a MLS Set? The scenario is that the CEO will have an EnGenius Single line phone that he will carry with him that we want to be able to mirror, although with just one line, his existing MLS, so that he can put a call on hold on the MLS and pick it up on the cordless, and be able to pick up the line appearance on his MLS set and hang up the cordless and continue the call? Need to do this as transparently as possible for the user.

Thanks in advance!

Well, it won't be very transparent.

A few FEATUERS will be required.

After putting the call on hold on the MLS, he will have to do a PICK-UP on the SLS.

(#9 EXT NUMBER)

-OR-

Have a pre-programed button on the SLS to do that, something like #01 (a speed dial) programmed to do the #9 Extension Number.

To get it back to the MLS from the SLS, he will have to TRANSFER IT!

(Flash, dial the MLS Number, and hang up)

I have some finance people using cordless headsets like this now, and they don't have a problem.

I was told something about a Shared system Access button, this won't work with a analog port from what you're saying?

'Fraid not!

SSA will not work from Single Line sets or Attendant Positions, DARN IT !

I wish they would!

I could never get Bell Labs to change that!

Ok, how bout the other way around then....can I make the Analog set his primary extension and put a shared system access button on his phone? I hear someone shaking their head no.....hmmm

Well, You could assign primary coverage to the analog phone to cover for Mr. Boss-man's MLS set. And then put a "coverage off" button on the MLS set for when he does not want calls to cover to the engenious. Although to pick the call up at the MLS set, the call will have to be transferred. Now, I notice that you said that you only want this on one line, so that means that Mr. Boss-man has an outside line appearence on that MLS set. So, just assign the same outside line to the engenious, and then you will not need to use coverage or anything. When you want to pick up a call on the MLS, that was previously being held on the cordless, just push the line, and hang up the cordless. Although this way, you will NOT receive intercom calls going to the MLS set on the analog set.
