We have a customer with a Merlin Messaging R 1.19 when you use the *2 directory feature it takes 60-90 seconds for the call to transfer to the extension even if you hit the # key when finished dialing the name. When dialing by extension # it rings right away. This is on all extensions, we have tried to remove and reinstall the mailboxes, checked all ports, rotery enable. Thanks in advance.

It could be a problem with the software on the hard drive - the portion that delas with "dial-by-name" may be corrupted.

Good call! I don't think extension length is a reach at all. Login to the admin mailbox and choose (1) System Parameters and (8) Maximum Digit Length. Change if necessary.

Since it rings right away when you "dial" the extention number from the AA - it makes me think that the extention length is set correctly in system parameters - but it is worth a check. If it is set correctly - then it is time to get a new hard drive for your voicemail.

Thank you all. The extension length was my first thought also but that was set correctly. I am also of the opinion of the hard drive. Thanks again for the fast response.
